Empty is good. Don’t fear the emptiness. Nothing can be filled more unless it is emptied first. If you just continue piling on more and more in a place that is already packed full you’ll get a tear, an explosion, a spillage, a snapping of bands, crashing and complete annihilation of structure. Empty is good.

The year has almost passed, and your multilayered being took in so much. You’re entangled and marked by experiences and the expectations of what hasn’t happened. You’ve soaked up so many things – happy, sad, useful and useless, those that opened you up and those that crashed the cogs of a machine in a single blow. You’ve hoped, cried, laughed, fought and tried to make the best of things, and you got filled with the remnants and echoes of all those things, people and situations, pictures, sounds, faces, words and actions seared into your consciousness.

In these few days, before new countdown of a lifecycle begins, find a quiet calm place for a few hours and get emptied. Reassess, evaluate, breathe it out, cry it out, hit “clear history” and let it go. Become empty and formless while cultivating gratitude for all the experiences you’ve gotten to have. Everything in your life has been served with love – even the challenges, even the difficulties, even the struggles – you’ve been given the chance to improve and grow through it. Don’t try to give labels to experiences beforehand. Don’t unnecessarily uglify or beautify something that has no nature than the potential for change. What is fighting the real and the opportunity that could be transformed by an attitude of gratitude is ego. Like pushing a door with a pebble underneath, preventing the door from swinging and scratching the floor beneath with a horrible sound. You can transcend without cynicism, you can relinquish loyalty to your perceived identities that fight the change (that’s all that an event is), while it never occurs to the ego to say thank you. Some things will have to die in order for you to really come to life.

Emptiness is good. It’s a prerequisite for fullness. Duality is not a crime, it is not opposites annihilating each other but the coming of balance of all things in the necessity to be able to exist, feel through the senses and be more than just your body and senses. Trust the truth, don’t get pulled into any shape or emotion. The dark will weaken if you refuse to fight and just observe and accept its existence. Don’t suppress, just observe – everything passes, even your personality as it is now will pass once you exhaust its current usefulness. There is a place that is unchanging inside, the spaciousness of nondenominational potential, the emptiness of neutral naturalness unburdened and relieved from the usual weights you carry as a person built around the ego. Detach from the constant “I want, I want, I want” and just slip into the “I am” as a complete sentence that needs no enhancements or additions. Empty is good, it’s preparing you for becoming who you really are.
