When we set out to solve a problem we saw arising in our own practice over and over again, we thought that it would all just stop at the Ashtanga Primary, once the need of our narrow community was satisfied by this piece of innovation. But, as the word spread and it started growing, Looxa was founded as a full-fledged accompany and soon decided to go further and cater the more advanced Ashtanga practitioners as well. So the Ashtanga Yoga Workbook Intermediate series was born under the Zagreb skies as a follow up to Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series Workbook, the story of which you can find here (http://looxa.net/2019/11/06/for-our-ashtangis/).

Ashtanga Intermediate was designed for those of you who wish to pursue higher Ashtanga knowledge and are interested in advancing onto the next level of skill after mastering the Primary Series. Just as its older sister, it is equally suitable whether you are a teacher or a student, working in a group or alone, using it during teacher trainings, workshops or self-study, and it acts as a tool to allow you to fully understand the anatomy, alignment and the technical details of the more complex Ashtanga asanas without interfering with the suggestions and guidance from your teacher or study source. It is not a textbook, but more of a progress and study log you create yourself and you’re free to use it any way you see fit and make it into your own masterpiece of personal growth, keeping your knowledge and insights all in one place.

Ashtanga Intermediate is the only one of our titles that has some copies left from the previous batch and these copies are priced cheaper than the new redesigned titles. The heart of the workbook – the asanas – is exactly the same as it will be after the redesign process face-lifting. As all of our titles, we insisted on printing them strictly on unbleached recycled paper in A5 format with soft covers and were designed to be elegant, clean and fluid as to emulate the yoga practice itself. The left pages contain artistically hand sketched drawings of 72 Ashtanga Intermediate Series asanas based on the proper alignment photos from David Swenson’s practice manual, while the right page is left blank for notes.

We were all beginners at something, and even if you’re not a novice in Ashtanga this is the next level and every master started out from the same place of beginnings, but now you have a tool to help you with the process.

Happy practice dear friends! Do your best and don’t stop trying. Success is a few simple disciplines repeated daily. Start today!
