Enemy is not somewhere outside, something to be pointed at, blamed and serving as a receptacle of our malicious energy, a thing that needs to be beaten down in order for you to come out of victorious. It is not outside. As a game of tag would say : “You’re it!”. What is that “it” you are? You’re all of “it”, the whole spectrum, a dual object capable of good and evil alike. As Sun Tzu put it: “Get to know yourself, get to know your enemy, and there will be no doubt about winning, not in a hundred battles”. Once you’re not wielding a katana at the neck of a real incarnated enemy as a master of war leading your troops into battle, you have no need for the literal reading of his lesson, but its transposition in the figurative is priceless. Knowing yourself is key, because the most battles you lead today are lead within and as the African proverb accurately states “When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm.”

You are your worst enemy, your battles are private warzones because you’re willingly shutting your eyes and refusing to see. See what? That you believing you’re constantly on the side of good is rubbish. You’re light and shadows combined, orbiting each other and pulled together by the gravitational pull of personality coherence. This line divides all hearts.

How could we have seen so much dark and suffering in the previous eras, how could the people inhabiting these moments in time have allowed such monstrosities to unfold? Because all that is repressed will come back as a much more serious symptom, and each time it emerges again it will be bigger and stronger until it forces you to deal with it growing to a society wide perversion. The degeneration was caused by denying the capability of evil and darkness we all carry. If we chose to ignore it and view the world in low resolution of ignorant bliss, errors occur in our processing of the real. You cannot make good decisions if you are willfully ignoring half the facts. If you’re not well aware you carry the capability for darkness inside you still don’t understand a thing, and no, you are not a part of the solution if you cannot even conceive yourself as having these dualities. Virtue is not the lack of malice, but being capable of it and deciding not to. You are your greatest enemy and your own prisoner of an intimate war.
