Well it is, but if you thought it wasn’t you’re right as well. To you it’s a big floating blue ball, a tiny bit flattened sphere that holds all you love. But it is flat as well, to a particle traveling near the speed of light we are a pancaked flatland. Cosmic ray proton at the 0.9999999999991 speed of light would see the Earth as 17 m thick – the faster you go the more the lengths contract. Yes, for realz.

Everything is a point of view and dependant on the one who views and the current laws that govern it (in the case of our example) or the socio/economic/personal/emotional/psychological/political climate of situations and people we encounter in our daily lives. Oh how we love to stick to our point as one seamless argument, but the next time you get into a discussion where someone is being “unreasonable” take the time to really evaluate if for your colleague debater the truth might in fact not be so, and the reason he/she can’t grasp your argument is that it is just not real – to them. In fact both of you could be right, finding different approaches – of which both could work, just one of them or neither. Believing you’re always right is the stepping stone into arrogance which will effectively close you off from developing further. No one says you have to accept everything at face value but, step off your high horse and at least entertain a thought that it’s possible there are other ways of achieving the same outcome. 1+4, 2+3, 2.5+2.5… they all give the same solution.

Don’t judge people for the choices they’ve made, you don’t know the whole story, stop moralizing and blinding yourself by rigid standpoints. You have no idea why someone needs to believe in a supreme being right now, why they needed to leave someone, withdraw from society for a while, focus all of their energy into something… There are multiple paths, and while some of what you believe is a fact, most of it is just a point of view. So is something wrong or right? Well, for most things – depends on who’s asking. You don’t have the sole monopoly on being right.
