Whatever “heaven” constitutes to you, metaphysical or not, weather you’re a believer or firmly planted in fact and science, believing only the empirical evidence.
Can you breathe your way to heaven? We honestly don’t know but in each and every situation you can arrive towards something closer to heaven than what you’ve found yourself in by breathing. The body is quite smart that way, it knows what the breath can do. What is the first thing you do when you’re nervous and steal a second alone where you don’t have to look like you’re holding it all together while silently screaming behind your poker face? You automatically start breathing deeply to self-soothe. It’s amazing what just three conscious breaths do to the cortisol levels ravaging your in “fight or flight” stuck body and mind. Breath is the thread biding you to life no matter how you breathe but you can improve its quality in seconds just by paying attention – when things avalanche one on top of the other go back to the basics, to the bare structure holding you together. Evolution was gracious enough to install all of the subprograms you need to thrive. You came fully operational. This “heaven might just be not allowing yourself to spiral into anxiety preventing you from performing as good as you’re capable of when you’re calm, but you can go further with this aerobic lifeline. You can flood yourself with DMT (very aptly called the spirit molecule in the contemporary culture) by breathing.
DMT is no synthetic chemical. It is already produced within living things and seems to be a conduit to different kind of experiences, those who sever the bonds of your attachment to the notion of self, as the self dissolves and understands the interconnectedness of all things operating as fragment of one singular energy and consciousness. All of those times you felt entirely connected to the whole, immersed in and experience as an observer that cares about all and enjoys all but is not identified with any of it, when you were creative beyond belief – all of these instances were preceded by some intentional or unintentional release or change in body chemistry. It may have been love given or received, consuming ayahuasca or smoking DMT directly, a combination of fasting, movement isolation and surroundings… and you can breathe your way to that place as well. DMT can get you as close to “heaven” as possible and dissemble the ego concerned with the mundane. If you ever feel like you’re trapped in this place unable to detach from trivial worldly things, your time and energy consumed by things you don’t consider real or feel that there is more, that the spirit somehow understands that this physical existence with all its problems is just a part of the spectrum and a cycle you find yourself with this body, if you notice a panic or an anxiety attack coming… – explore the subject, find a breathing teacher or a mentor, get out in the sun and breathe…
The methods vary but it is possible and necessary to get out of your own head. Breathe, whatever is happening, breathe it out. Try different approaches be it seated on a cushion, on the ground, laying down, doing fast inhales through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, incorporate movement or do a Taoist belly massage to stimulate the Vegas nerve, try holding the inhales or exhales, stretch while you’re doing it, work on our Eustachian tubes, do lion breaths or the breath of fire or make you own combination… Just breathe your full capacity. Breathe.
