Just for the sake of argument now, release your feet and mind from the roots of reality (as you see it) and take this as a safe space of a thought experiment, some gray matter and soul gymnastics stretching the boundaries of (your) “real”- Imagine …

  • If there were no imitations to what you can do creatively, even if you’re limited by the physical, ontological or postproduction properties of the material you use as a medium for your creativity, imagine if creativity itself were limitless
  • If you could be as honest and open as you wish without it being labeled as naiveté and punished out of you through life, if you didn’t have to become a persona but lived your weird, awkward, silly, strange, challenging, uplifting, warped full truth
  • If you stopped punishing yourself for times long gone or fearing the future
  • If you saw yourself as a being of free will and not a victim of circumstance
  • If you chose action instead of an excuse
  • If you were appreciated for what you can do, your expertise, talents and dedication, the emotions, kindness and support, individual self, character traits given and those acquired through effort instead of the surface of things
  • If everything you did mattered
  • If you did things because you truly want to not because you believe you have to
  • If you were loved – flaws and all, the whole shebang
  • If you stopped trying to prove a point and started listening to what others have to say, you might learn something and walk away from that conversation better
  • If you stopped protecting your own misery and refusing to let go of things that no longer serve you
  • If you spoke of your mistakes openly helping others through the wisdom you acquired by making them
  • If you stopped slipping into default behaviors defending out of habit the things, stances, ideologies, systems and claims you no longer believe to be true or valuable
  • If you decided to make it your priority to be a student of all things around you
  • If you stopped imposing expectations and schedules on people and events and just enjoyed where you are and who you’re with
  • If you stopped taking things personal
  • If you started trying without expecting anything in return
  • If you started talking to yourself as if you would talk to someone you love and care for
  • If you decided to be defined by what you think of yourself and how you’ve advanced from the old you
  • If you were happy and excited to start a new day

All of this is possible. Take a moment to meditate on the limits you’ve imposed on yourself. The world is as wide or as narrow as you make it in your mind. Everything you can imagine is (or becomes) real. When you’re stuck do the “imagine if” exercises and start treating the new concepts as real. If there is no true objective reality it means that all conscious things are free to choose their reality and that heaven and hell are equally available as choices.
