Citizens do not misbehave, robots do not break the algorithm, marionettes go only as far as the strings allow, those passively entertained don’t ask too many questions, the fearful are obedient and reluctant to displease the master… You don’t “misbehave” if you are well “socialized”, “civilized” and “proper”. In fact in the structure of any culture or ideology misbehaving (defined as attempting anything outside the set parameters of what is allowed) is the greatest sin, it’s the original sin for that matter, one you’re smeared with the moment you’re born into Christianity.

The whole Eden dispute was the one over not following a ridiculous command while the ripe red fullness of knowledge dangled readily available and hanging right here within your reach. One can only hope that this symbolism goes far deeper and that an omniscient, omnipotent God is also wise enough to mask its benevolence in tyranny while he was tempting on purpose because he actually wanted his “subjects” to rebel and knows nothing is as sweet as forbidden fruit. We can only hope that it was a trick because in all the omnipotence of “creating the world” and genetic know-how of creating a whole other gender out of the “rib of another”, it couldn’t have been that hard to remove the temptation – relocate the “fruit” higher up so the “children” couldn’t get to it, relocate the tree out of Eden, make it infinitely tall… But he didn’t and, as we are optimists, we choose the stance that it is not just a cruel but a lesson delivered by someone(thing) always 3 moves ahead. So the only conclusion is – rebellion is necessary.

The reason why Adam and Eve and all of the children of mankind were banished is quote: “They will become as we are if they eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge”. It was not benevolence trying to protect its creation, but a voice of structure that understands it is far easier to manipulate those you keep dumb, uneducated and completely dependent on you. This is the voice of a patron patting your head and despising the freedom because freedom of self means not getting its way. Some things are rude but correct and their rudeness is therefore excused by this correctness. It is completely all right and necessary to stand up amidst the structure that keeps you quiet, docile, neutralized and harmless by imposing rules and regulations and yell: “Bullshit!”. No one really knows what is going on and what the point is and the guess of any structure in the history of organized humanness is just as good as your personal guess (if you’re not lazy in exploring and thinking).

The “first people” were right to rebel and eat the damn apple. If they didn’t they would forever remain slaves in a farce of freedom and bounty. Eat the apple! In Eden the barb wire incarcerating was just hidden by the beautiful flora, but there none the less. Eat the damn apple!
