- Sleep
Why?
Because no amount of work or service you’ll do when you can’t keep your eyes opened, your mind clear and the decision process rational is worth it. Recover and recharge so you do everything you’d do tired twice as fast and exponentially more efficiently. Don’t force your body, feel its rhythm and divide your tasks and energy according to the demands of the day and an internal metronome. Rest when you need to. You’re no use to anyone empty.
- Eat well
Why?
Because a few hours a day invested into food preparation from scratch is worth the long term benefits and the improvement in life quality. Stop searching for convenience and instead consider the long-term effect of everything you do. Cook. Daily! Learn about food and what it does. Daily! Listen to what your body is telling you after eating certain foods. Daily! Once you figure it out sufficiently, spread the word or cook for others as well.
- Leave
Why?
Because there is no more reason to stay, because you’re worth more than constantly being made feel less or for whatever reason it is that is not leaving you alone and makes you insides cringe with every interaction. There is nothing binding you in situations that make you feel perpetually miserable, not even blood or law. You’re free to disengage.
- Stay
Why?
Because sometimes it gets harder before it gets amazingly beautiful. Because there is something here worth staying for that is so rare and gorgeous in its purity that the time and effort invested is worth it. Trust your intuition and don’t confuse habit and attachment as reasons to stay.
- Put up boundaries
Why?
Because, although the majority of people and intentions you meet are good and pure, some of them are not, and it only takes one to go off to the deep end. Stay completely opened but be less naive and gullible. Keep your boundaries in order to be able to have true compassion.
- Tell the truth
Why?
Because everything else is just white noise and a simulation on which a life cannot be built upon. Tell the truth and ask for truth in return. Don’t lie to yourself or anyone else or else you’ll lose the compass of reality and be unable to act productively within it and cultivate true relationships and progress. Tell the truth even when it is inconvenient, uncomfortable and hard, especially then. There is no bravery in the absence of fear.
