It makes no difference whether you are a teacher or a student, working in a group or alone, using it during teacher trainings, workshops or self-study. We’ve had all of you in mind when designing the Ashtanga Primary Series Workbook and it holds a special place in our hearts since it was the first Looxa Yoga Workbook ever created. A personal necessity for a narrow group of our ashtangis lit the spark and subsequently grew into a platform to create beautiful things for the whole yoga community.
From the first line ever drawn for a prototype and seeing it come alive fresh from print we knew this was love and that we’ll devote our time to making it better with each new batch and tweak it to suit the ones who love them on and off the mat. Once they leave us they are no longer ours any more than any piece of good news is. They become anyone’s who’s willing to roll out a mat and put in the work. Your skill or knowledge level is irrelevant since they were created to support learning and really require work from you. They weren’t made to give you the answers but help you find them. Ashtanga Primary Workbook will not interfere with the instructions of your teacher as it has no explanations, just the hand sketched drawings, the name of the asana, and a lot of free space to take detailed notes. You’re free to jot down anything you like from the asana instructions to creating your own personal diaries of sensations, emotions and progress. Even we were staggered by the options we never thought of when setting out to just make the asana learning easier. Who would have ever thought a yoga workbook would become a healing journal as well. But it did.
The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series Workbook is designed to introduce you to Ashtanga, containing 69 Ashtanga Primary series asanas based upon the photos from David Swenson’s Practice manual and its goal is to allow more time to be focused on the process of learning. We were all beginners at something. Every master started out from the same place of beginnings, but now you have a tool to help you with the process.
Happy practice dear friends! Do your best and don’t stop trying. Success is a few simple disciplines repeated daily. Start today!
